Based on 553 reviewsB.E. SCOTTS BBQ in Lexington, TN, is widely praised for its exceptional pulled pork and ribs, often highlighted for their tenderness, smokiness, and unique preparation using whole hogs. Customers frequently commend the balance of flavors, mentioning well-crafted sauces and complementary sides like potato salad and baked beans. The restaurant is noted for its clean environment, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing, making it a valued stop for both locals and travelers. Its accessibility on Highway 412 and a reputation built over many years contribute to its appeal. While pork remains the standout choice, beef brisket is also recommended for those seeking a leaner option, reflecting the brand's considerate approach to customer preferences and quality barbecue traditions.
I don't eat much pork because it is very unhealthy but it sure does taste good! This is without a doubt in my humble opinion the best barbecue in the area! They've been around a long time with easy access just on the west end of town on highway 412. So if you want some pig meat this is your best choice! If you want the healthiest choice go with the beef brisket! Might be a good idea to call ahead to make sure they have some because it's in high demand!
Counter-order spot with one of the best pork sandwiches in all of West Tennessee. Lightly smoked and incredibly soft and tender, you won’t find any char in their pulled pork—presumably a result of their smoking process and use of whole hogs. Piled high with choice of mayonnaise or vinegar slaw and hot or mild sauce, the sandwiches are a great value by themselves or in a combo with mustardy potato salad. Now serving tea in addition to canned cokes.
The pulled pork is amazing. I’ve had nothing like it before. So good that we had two large pulled pork sandwiches each, baked beans, potato salad and sweet tea. Friendly staff and clean environment. Worth every bit of the long drive. I won’t forget this place and will likely go back again soon.
Food and service was fantastic. First time, but, won't be the last. Price was very reasonable.
I had seen B. E. Scott's BBQ featured on episode of John Edge's "True South" food show on SEC Network around New Year's. Finally got there today and it was SO worth the trip (from Dickson TN). The pulled pork sandwich was great and the ribs were fabulous. I've eaten at BBQ joints in TN, AL, GA, and TX and Scott's ribs were probably the most tender I've ever eaten!
An unexpected find on our way home. Whole hog pit bbq cooked daily. We were offered vinegar sauce which went great with the fatty pork. Great place, we highly recommend
Simple yet exquisite! I needed to kill some time, so I pulled in, and I’m glad I did! I had the bbq sandwich combo, 9.30 after tax. Their idea of a “medium “ sweet tea is bigger than most larges. The pork was perfectly cooked and tender. You have a choice of slaw, vinegar or mayonnaise; and a choice of sauce. The medium sauce has a kick. You order from the counter, and wait a few minutes, and then it’s ready. The dining area is large and comfortable. This is a popular place on Friday evening.
I only had the large pulled pork sandwich with hot sauce and vinegar slaw on a Thursday at lunch. This was my first time there. The sandwich was full and had a good flavor. It was 4.50. Employees were very nice and seemed to know most of the customers that were coming in for lunch including what they usually order which is a nice touch. The place has plenty of seating [see pics]. Only downside was the bathrooms were outside. They were clean but very, very basic. I would recommend at least a topping by one time and trying it out for yourself!
